Gorleston Band Goes From Strength to Strength

Posted on 26 January 2012 by mark

Norwich-based band the are celebrating the release of their second album on Fierce Panda records, after a year which saw them receive international attention

The Kabeedies most notable exposure came with their track ‘Come On’, which was picked up by Microsoft and used in its ad campaign for Xbox Kinect.

Drummer Francis Bell was born in Gorleston, while the rest of the band also have Norfolk roots, and now they are celebrating their success with a gig at the Ipswich Swan and an appearance at this year’s Latitude festival in July.

Gorleston fans are hopeful that the band will play a home town show this year, and are lobbying the band via their facebook page.

The Kabeedies are just one of many East Anglian bands who are finding success, and proof if it were needed that the local music scene is flourishing, despite the loss of several key venues over the last few years.
