Like a lot of beach resorts Gorleston offers fun activities and things to do by the seaside. However there are a number of interesting places in the local area you may not necessarily know about that can make your stay that bit more memorable.
One of the biggest attractions in the local area is the Gorleston Pavilion Theatre. Aside from being a beautiful building in and of itself there is a fascinating program of shows over the summer and it is well worth checking their website as they offer a wide range of shows. The refurbished bandstand also offers space for musicians of various genres to perform, allowing you the chance to sit back and listen to some music in the open air (as with the theatre it is worth checking if anyone you want to see is booked to play).
If you love golf then Gorleston Golf Club is the place for you- the course lovingly described as “the most Easterly golf club in Britain”. However it is not worth going for novelty factor alone- the club offers a spectacular view over the Gorleston cliffs and it also has a highly rated dining area, ideal for celebrating/commiserating after a few holes!
Gorleston offers a range of great places to eat. If you fancy combining a meal with some culture Picasso’s Gallery provides you the chance to enjoy your food and appreciate some art on display in their exhibition at the same time.
In short Gorleston offers a combination of what you would expect from a seaside resort alongside culture, sport and leisure, making it well worth a visit!
