Get set for an easter egg-stravaganza like no other as the Gorleston Theatre Company stages an egg-citing updated version of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic The Ugly Duckling
The perfect slice of Easter family entertainment in Gorleston, Honk! is a modernised musical retelling of the classic fairy tale. Telling the story of an unfortunate baby bird shunned for its strange appearance only to grow up into a majestic swan, Honk! was a huge international success when it first debuted at the National Theatre 20 years ago.
Director Jeannie Kinkaird told the Great Yarmouth Mercury “We chose it because it is different, a good family show and ideal for our Easter slot. It’s got exuberant music and a stream of hilarious characters.”
By coincidence, Honk! is also returning to the National Theatre this year, making the Gorleston version even more timely. The show will run from April 12 to April 15th at Gorleston pavilion.
