Newly Promoted Barclays Premier League side Norwich City will face newly promoted Gorleston FC in a pre-season friendly.
July 16th will see both teams, now in new premier leagues, kick off on the turf of Emerald Park at 3pm.
The canaries have a pre-season tour of Germany coming up before a long premier ship campaign, but will face the Greens as they are known for their style of British football.
Ann Santon, club secretary, for Gorleston FC told the Great Yarmouth Mercury,
“I have no doubts we will do them proud on the pitch,” she said. “I think now is the time to say a big thank you to our management team led by Richard Daniels and Mike Derbyshire. Not only did they win us two cups and promotion this season, but it is because they provided such excellent football during the season we were given this prestige fixture.”
It’s no doubt that Gorleston will be a hive of activity on the 16th July as the home tome face off to some proven competition. With a host of new transfers already, including Striker James Vaughan formerly of Everton, and ex Millwall player Steve Morison the Greens will have plenty to deal with.
Further details of the fixture are yet to be released, but check back at Love Gorleston and get down to Emerald park this July.
