There are a number of places to explore around Gorleston and here is a simple one for you
The good thing about Gorleston is that you are near the beach and pretty much any walk can include a stroll around the beach, playing around and paddling in the sea and generally taking advantage of being near the coast. However sometimes it is easy to forget that there are other places to look around and explore.
This particular walk gives you a chance to get the opportunity to start off at a landmark and finish at a landmark- we start at the Pavilion Theatre (1) allowing you to head west and wander around Pier Gardens (2).
As you turn right down Pavilion Road keep going down Riverside Road (where you can stop off and see the Lifeboat Centre (2) and Malthouse Lane. You then turn right on Beccles Lane before carrying onto Southtown Road and then going right onto Bridge Road (keep going on A1243 before left on Nottingham Way and then right on King Street)
Once you turn left on St Peter’s Street and right on Blackfriar’s Road you will arrive at the Time and Tide Museum (3). As well as being at the museum you then have easy access to the Yarmouth’s famous “Golden Mile” home of a number of attractions (including the Grovesnor Casino, the pier, the cinema and Joyland theme park).
The walk in total is around 1 hour and 20 minutes, with a number of places you can stop off for refreshments and diversions along the way, ideal if you want to make the most from your stay in the area.
