Gorleston Paralympiad Heads into a Course in Animal Grooming

Jessica-Jane Applegate is studying an NPTC level two certificate course at Easton and Otley College in Norwich.

Jessica-Jane was one of the great achievers at the London 2012 games, winning gold in the 200m freestyle at the Paralympics. She’s also an ambassador for the Norwich City Sports Foundation and Mencap, as well as passing on her sporting knowledge to youngsters at schools in the region.

The seventeen year old swimmer from Gorleston said: “I don’t have much free time, but I love dogs and have always had dogs. They make the best friends and never judge you.” She hopes that her course will lead to a career in dog grooming after she becomes too old to continue in the paralympics, and wishes to continue helping animals for the rest of her life.
