There isn’t much that can beat a good old day out at the seaside.
Having a swim in the sea to cool off and have fun is all part of the day. Yet Baywatch, for all its slow motion running and of course the Hoff, had at its centre a message…Be Careful on the Beach!
Indeed a vital part of the beach is the team of lifeguards that patrol our coasts keeping swimmers safe. Gorleston beach is no different and this year the Gorleston Surf Lifesaving Club will give you the chance to be the next David Hasselhoff!
The event, in its second year teaches children and adults sea safety skills, first aid, swimming and paddle boarding.
One of the lifeguards involved commented,
“We’re hoping for a really big turn-out this summer. The youngsters are going to have terrific fun while learning how to be safe in the sea. We’ve got superb new facilities and a great bunch of friendly instructors to keep everyone safe and fully entertained.”
If your interested in becoming a life guard, getting some sea safety tips or want an interesting day out the club are holding an open day on Saturday May 16th.
