Visit Gorleston on Sea in Norfolk. Love Gorleston Tourist Information

Gorleston The seaside town of Gorleston is simply a great base for a day out or holiday on the Norfolk Coast. Gorleston which is also known as Gorleston on Sea is situated next to the town of Great Yarmouth, in the charming English county of Norfolk. Gorleston is Positioned to the south of the River Yare which separates it from the well known Great Yarmouth.
Gorleston’s main mark in the history books is tha it was the historic centre of the herring fishing industry with sailing drifters. Gorleston on Sea then became a major seaside resort in Edwardian times, widely known as one of the best places to go for a day or holiday by the seaside by rail. Gorleston in Norfolk once had 3 train stations on a line running from Lowestoft to GT Yarmouth, sadly there are none any more.
However, Gorleston on Sea remains a great Norfolk resort and has managed to retain much of its delightful Edwardian charm in the area around the beach and promenade. With Gorleston beach regularly achieving Blue Flag status. The Gorleston high street is home to well known brands and small independent retailers alike.
